Our Moderator is Ms. Karla Williams, BDPA-DC.

Ms. Williams has over 18 years of Information, Communications, and Technology (ICT) industry experience with publishing, e-learning, and cyber security in public, private, and academic sectors and is a Principal with KMD Technology, LLC. She has a BA in Foreign Languages and an MA in International Affairs/Public Policy from Georgetown University. She is a Ph.D candidate at Walden University in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with a specialization in Management Information Systems. Ms. Williams is an instructor for local BDPA High School Computer Competition (HSCC) Teams.

Local BDPA Chapters and Chapter Interest Groups (CIGs) support emerging Cyber Security and Information Assurance markets in the region's community colleges. Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) has a great Computer Forensics program. PGCC is a CyberWATCH (Cybersecurity: Washington Area Technician and Consortium Headquarters) Regional ATE Center of an NSF funded grant. CyberWATCH  is a consortium of ten community colleges, eight universities, federal and state agencies and businesses, addressing the need for a greater and better educated workforce in computer and network security. BDPA Regional Chapters



NBDPA's mission is to bridge cyber security,  information technology (IT) and telecommunications competency gaps in urban and underserved communities. Local BDPA chapter goals in the National Capital Region (NCR)  are to provide technical, vocational, and professional STEM outreach services and training programs for area professionals and students in any industry. BDPA Chapters also work with information communication and technology (ICT) industry partners to develop workforce pipelines in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Regional and local efforts in CS-STEM (Computer Science STEM) and STEM-IC (STEM Intelligence/Cyber) initiatives, directly support federal agency ICT staffing goals, and public sector ICT requirements.
